Congenital Hypertrophic Pyloric Stenosis





Abstract
This article is based on an analysis of 55 consecutive cases of congenital hypertrophic pyloric stenosis which were treated at surgical department of Yonsei University College of Medicine from 1967 to 197.7. Congenital hypertrophic pyloric stenosis is one of the more common surgical problems in infancy. Vomiting is the earliest manifestation and usually begins at about 2 or 3 weeks after birth. The results of surgical treatment has been successful and excellent in, our institution. Few complication of operation are noted as followings; duodenal perforation in: 5 cases, and immediate postoperative vomiting which is subsided spontaneously in a few days of operation. Today in most institution, the result of surgical treatment for the baby with pyloric stenosis, is extremely bright in over 99% of cases.
